Frequently asked questions.
Clear answers on how Kin-Guard works, legality, privacy and getting started.
No. Kin-Guard first greets the unknown caller to understand who they are and why they are calling. If the call is legitimate, it will be transmitted to you normally. Only suspicious calls or refusals to attend are blocked.
Yes. You can create a white list of numbers that pass directly, without an intermediary. Your contacts saved in your phone are not filtered by default.
Yes, always. The assistant introduces himself at the start of the call, explains his role and informs the caller that the conversation can be analyzed. Transparency is a legal requirement and a fundamental principle of Kin-Guard.
Yes. Kin-Guard is designed in compliance with French regulations and the GDPR. The caller is informed and their consent is obtained if the conversation is analyzed or recorded.
Kin-Guard only records what is strictly necessary for detection. The goal is not to keep complete conversations. Retention periods are minimal and configurable.
AI can make mistakes — no tool is perfect. If a legitimate call is blocked or put on hold, the caller can leave a message, and you'll receive a notification to decide what to do next. You always remain in control.
Yes. Kin-Guard is designed to be discreet: the protected person does not change their habits. The assistant handles strangers in the background, without the person needing to handle their phone differently.
Yes. You can activate Kin-Guard on a loved one's line and receive alerts if a suspicious attempt is detected — without having access to all of their calls. The protected person remains autonomous.
Kin-Guard is designed to work with the main French operators. Operator compatibility will be specified when put online. Those registered on the waiting list will be informed as a priority.
Kin-Guard can monitor calls during calls you choose to place, to detect scam signals mid-call. There is no permanent human listening: detection is automated.
This is precisely why Kin-Guard also monitors during the call. If signals appear during the conversation (banking codes, emotional pressure, imposed secrecy), the assistant can intervene and cut off the call.
The assistant calmly explains why the call was terminated, without judgment. If you wish to call the interlocutor back or verify the information, you can do so in full knowledge of the facts.
Yes. You can designate a trusted person — often a child, spouse or caregiver — who receives important alerts and can view reported events. She does not take control of the phone: she is informed.
Kin-Guard applies the principle of data minimization. The elements necessary for detection are processed in real time. The goal is not to keep complete conversations.
The objective is accommodation in France or in the European Union. This commitment will be confirmed and specified according to the technical service providers selected, before the commercial launch.
The assistant asks the caller questions before making any decisions. It does not block based on the number alone: it evaluates the behavior. You can also adjust the sensitivity of the filter and create a whitelist.
